Secret Babies-at-Work Programs

I came upon this "Baby at Work" blog entry today, in the course of my attempts to contact every group I can find that seems like they would be interested in this babies-at-work concept.  I find it interesting that the woman who had her baby at work was unwilling to give her name or list the name of her business.

I suspect that there are far more organizations out there that allow babies at work that I haven't found yet because they believe they're the only ones doing it and they're concerned that they'll be considered "unusual" or "unprofessional" for their choice.  I hope that my efforts to raise public awareness about these programs helps more organizations feel comfortable "going public" with the fact that allowing babies at work has worked for them, too.

I'm back!

Sorry for the intermittent posting over the last several months--all my free time has gone toward setting up the Babies in the Workplace site.  I will be more regular about posting from now on.

I've reached a bit of a plateau in my efforts to promote babies-at-work programs.  Although I can often squeeze in time in the late evening after the girls are asleep to add to the website, I'm having serious trouble finding the time to do the more intensive work necessary to really push this concept forward.  I haven't even been able to find the time (during business hours) to call potential baby-friendly companies to see if I can list them on the site, much less find time to work on building my Babies in Business consulting company, which I think is the best bet for getting more companies to adopt these programs as well as to draw public attention to the fact that babies-at-work programs really can work.

So, I added a Partners page to the Babies in the Workplace website, to ask for help getting to a financial position in which I can take time off work to get the business going and to promote these programs in other ways (soliciting speaking engagements, writing articles, etc.).  My hope is that there are enough people excited about the potential of these programs that they will be willing to contribute a small amount to enable me to get babies-at-work programs to a high level of societal awareness and acceptance.  I believe that we are on the edge of a revolution in how our society looks at the direct integration of work and family, and I would greatly appreciate your help and suggestions on helping to make that happen.  I will be discussing the progress of this effort here (as well as discussing other related topics).
